Frequently asked questions

Is Frankfurt worth a visit, or is it just for transit?

One full day is enough for the centre and the museum embankment. Its real value is as a base: by train you can quickly reach Heidelberg, Mainz, Cologne or Stuttgart.

How much money do you need per day in Frankfurt?

Excluding the flight and accommodation, plan on €50-75 a day. Hotels are cheaper at weekends and get much more expensive during trade fairs.

What documents do I need?

Germany is in the Schengen area. Albanian citizens with a biometric passport enter without a visa, for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after your return date. Biometric data is recorded at the border (the EES system), and the ETIAS online authorisation is expected to become mandatory: check before you leave whether it has come into force.
