Frequently asked questions
Zaventem or Charleroi?
Zaventem (BRU) is 20 minutes by train from the centre. Charleroi (CRL) often has cheaper fares, but it's 55 km away: add about an hour and €15-19 for the bus. Compare the total price, not just the fare.
How much money do you need per day in Brussels?
Excluding the flight and accommodation, plan on €50-75 a day. Day trips by train are cheap: Bruges or Ghent cost about €10-17 each way.
What documents do I need?
Belgium is in the Schengen area. Albanian citizens with a biometric passport enter without a visa, for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after your return date. Biometric data is recorded at the border (the EES system), and the ETIAS online authorisation is expected to become mandatory: check before you leave whether it has come into force.
When are tickets cheapest?
